Most comic makers for kids are drag and drop
They hand a child a library of ready-made characters, a background, and a bubble to drag around. The child arranges someone else's art on a tablet for twenty minutes and the result looks the same as everyone else's.
Here the child gets a sheet of paper and an idea: draw the hero who can only fly thirty centimetres off the ground. Whatever comes out of that is the comic. We supply the panel, the bubble, the page number and the typography, because that is layout work, and layout work is the part a five-year-old does not enjoy.

Choose a theme
Superheroes, Monsters, Robot City, Space Zoo, Deep Sea or Dino Diner. Twelve ideas each.

Print the sheet, read out the idea, and leave them to it. There is no timer and no wrong answer.

Photograph the drawing and type what the character says. The bubble is placed in code, so the art underneath is never covered.

Questions parents ask
- Does my child need a tablet or a stylus?
- No. Everything a child does in this product happens on paper with whatever is on the table. The only screen involved is your phone, twice: once to photograph the drawing and once to type the speech bubble.
- Can my child type the speech bubble?
- Sure, if you hand them the phone. There is no character limit worth worrying about and you can change it later for free.
- How many panels are on a page?
- One drawing per page, in one large panel, with the idea printed underneath and the speech bubble on top. Small children draw big, and cutting a page into six boxes makes the drawing tiny in print.
- Can two children share a booklet?
- Yes. Split the twelve pages however you want. The cover credits whoever you type in as the author, so a shared booklet can name both.
- What size does it print at?
- 6 by 8 inches, which fits on A4 or US Letter with a margin. Print it at home or send the PDF to a print shop.
